Wayfare might have the best bread basket in the city - it involves free popovers that are a revelation. The old-school Financial District spot is one of the only SF restaurants with a “celebrity” (aka has a Food Network show) chef, and it’s a great place for special occasions or client lunches or dinners that you’ll be expensing. This is comfort food done right - think fried chicken, deviled eggs, and mac and cheese. Wear stretchy pants.
