Flour + Water Pasta Shop
Where we've featured it
Flour + Water’s new shop in the Mission does more than sell excellent fresh pasta - they also make some of the best sandwiches in the city. The sandwiches and specials change up occasionally, but one that’s usually on the menu (and keeps us coming back) is the Calabrian fried chicken sandwich. It’s messy, delicious, and comes on a toasted sesame roll with spicy aioli, creamy slaw, and pickled banana peppers. Their cold salumi sandwich is great, too, and travels better if you’re planning on eating it at the park.
Flour + Water’s new to-go shop in the Mission offers sandwiches, snacks, and pantry items - but we love the DIY pasta kits, especially the corn cappelletti. The pasta is hand-folded with a sweet, lemony ricotta filling, and you’re given everything you need to cook the fragrant, buttery sauce on your own. The kit also comes with freshly baked focaccia, which is some of the best we’ve had in months. You can place an order for pick-up here.
Shortly after the shelter-in-place order, Flour + Water launched a takeout-focused storefront in the Mission. Flour + Water Pasta Shop has DIY meal kits - so you can make their incredible corn cappelletti at home - and sandwiches, salads, and snacks you can take to-go or enjoy on a sidewalk table.
