There are about as many ice cream shops on LBI as there are cop cars hiding out on Long Beach Boulevard. For the most part, you should just go to whichever one is most convenient - like Poppy’s after walking around the lighthouse in Barnegat Light or Shore Good Donuts on your way off the island. But one place that’s worth traveling for is Skipper Dipper in Beach Haven. It’s been around since the ’70s, serving tons of flavors in hard and soft serve, sundaes, and milkshakes, including a cold brew float with coffee from La Colombe. A cone with two scoops of cookies and cream ice cream topped with chocolate and vanilla swirl soft serve definitely isn’t the only move, but it is the right one.
