One of the best places for a big group hang in South Brooklyn, Threes Brewing now has a second smaller, vibier location. This one is in Greenpoint (in what was formerly the Cassette space), and in addition to rotating draughts, bottles, and cans that beer people will get excited about, they’re also serving really tasty food. You’ll find stuff you’d expect to eat at a beer place (a burger, tacos, grilled cheese) and stuff you might not (farro salad, avocado sandwich). The next time you’re looking to catch up with a friend, not spend a whole lot of money, and not have to fight people for seats or elbow room, consider the new Threes. It’s a great low-key hang.

Lavender Lake could get away with being a just great bar with a large outdoor patio. However, it scores extra points from us for putting some care into curating a small but solid selection of bar snacks and entree sized plates.
Threes Brewing is one of the better places for a laid-back big group hang in Brooklyn.
