Sauced isn’t the kind of wine bar where you read a book and drink a Burgundy you recognize from your neighborhood wine shop. This Williamsburg spot gets busy, there’s a disco ball in the back, and you’ll find a bunch of people standing around with half-filled wine glasses like they’re at some sort of singles mixer. Also, there’s no actual wine list. The bartender will ask you what you like, and they’ll pour you tastes of things (like a natural Spanish wine with notes of pickle juice) until you find your grapey soulmate. This isn’t the most efficient process, and it can make the place seem a little anarchic at times (especially when multiple people need drinks), but ultimately we find it charming.
