Fumo, a corner Italian spot right across the street from City College, is a textbook example of the Super Cute Reasonably Priced Restaurant For Catching Up With A Few Friends. It’s an attractive, white-walled space with marble countertops, lots of plants, and big bright photographs covering the walls. More importantly: the casual Italian classics are very good. And while Fumo is ideal for splitting pizzas, pastas, and appetizers among friends, it’s also great for a first date when you have no idea how it’s going to go.
