But the reality show that is your life, on a Sunday morning, is going down regardless of whether or not A&E thinks it’s compelling, so let’s talk. About eating dim sum.
This city is full of dozens of excellent places to eat dim sum, from Chinatown to Flushing to Sunset Park, and the truth is that you will not go wrong at any of the ones you’ve heard are good. One of our go-tos for a straightforward dim sum operation? Dim Sum Go Go.
This is a Chinatown spot where you order off a menu, rather than from one of the carts rolling around the room. It’s not as traditional, and is as a result a bit less lively, but it’s a convenient option with quality dim sum, particularly if you know exactly what you want. If you don’t know exactly what you want? Go for the dim sum sampler, which lets you try 10 different dumplings. There’s even a vegetarian version. Dim Sum Go Go is also open past traditional dim sum daytime hours, until 11 p.m.
Ten kinds of dumplings, and one of them is pink. While not every dumpling is our absolute favorite, it’s a good way to try it all. Definitely make use of the green ginger and scallion sauce, as well as the super savory XO sauce, both of which will be on your table.
Fluffy, steamed buns filled with the good stuff. You want these for sure.
While the steamed dumplings tend to be best here, we like the shrimp balls from the fried section. They’re crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside.
