It’s hard to tell if Cane & Table is a restaurant with great drinks, or a fancy cocktail bar that serves surprisingly good food. Either way, it’s one of our favorite spots in the French Quarter and their big back courtyard is the perfect place to escape the chaos of nearby Bourbon Street. They have one of the most diverse cocktail menus in the city and serve a mix of great small plates and entrees, like green gumbo and a whole roasted fish. Whether you need a place for a big group or somewhere for a date, Cane & Table has you covered.

Central Grocery Co.
You should have a muffuletta when you’re in New Orleans, and since the sandwich was invented here, get one from Central Grocery in the Quarter.
Cafe Sbisa serves classic creole food, but really you come here for the great second floor patio, or to grab drinks at their restored bar.
Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop
There are 257 terrible bars on Bourbon Street, but Lafitte’s isn’t one of them. Grab a voodoo juice, enjoy the patio, and be glad you ended up here.

With a flaming fountain, huge patio, and dueling pianos, Pat O’Brien’s is the go-to day drinking and late-night bar in the French Quarter.
Next door to the restaurant is Cochon Butcher, which is way more casual than its neighbor, but still serves great sandwiches and drinks.
