Trying to pick an affordable sushi spot on Ventura Blvd. is an overwhelming task, but if you’re close to Kaiju in Sherman Oaks, go there. The dark interior is calm, quiet, and feels miles away from Ventura’s never-ending traffic outside, and come lunchtime, roll combos will get you five pieces of sushi, a roll of your choice, and miso soup all for $16. If you decide to stick just to sushi, we recommend going all-in on the amberjack and toro.
