Chef Kang Sul Box
Where we've featured it

Opening just before quarantine began, Chef Kang Sul Box is still a new name to some people in Koreatown, but this spot is absolutely worth checking out - particularly because of its massive wrap-around outdoor patio. The fried chicken wings are excellent (you’re obviously giving a tiny piece to your dog) and the Spam and tofu-filled army stew is a standout.

Budae Jjigae
Made with Spam, sausage, and instant ramen, this spicy kimchi stew isn’t exactly a who’s-who of the butcher shop, but if you order from Chef Kang Sul Box without getting it, you’ve done it all wrong. It’s spicy, savory, and definitely large enough for two meals - a steal considering it’s only $13. Be sure to throw in some signature Korean wings to complete your feast.

They opened just before quarantine began, so Chef Kang Sul Box is still a new name to some people in Koreatown, but this spot is absolutely still worth checking out. The fried chicken wings are excellent (it’s the same recipe from the original restaurant, Chef Kang Food Rehab), but we haven’t had a bad thing yet on the menu. The Spam and tofu-filled army stew is a standout. Available for takeout and delivery.
Opening just before the start of quarantine, Chef Kang Sul Box has managed to build a massive following even in the midst of a global pandemic - a testament to their excellent Korean gastropub menu. The space on Wilshire has a large wrap-around patio with every table covered by a tent to keep out the sun.
