Casa Agria

701 N Del Norte Blvd #310

Oxnard, CA 93030

Casa Agria is among the most underrated breweries in the state. This small operation in Oxnard is the ideal place to stop on the way back from a hike in Ojai, since they’re approximately two minutes off the 101. Their selection changes monthly, but whatever hazy IPA or sour blend they have is bound to be great. As far as the hike beforehand, there are lots of options in and around Ojai - the Shelf Road Trail is casual and close to town, but offers great views of Ojai Valley. A bit further into the mountains is Howard Creek Trail, a beautiful hike with lots of wildflowers, streams, and birds.

Casa Agria is one of our favorite places for a day trip. This Oxnard brewery has a family- and dog-friendly patio, and they make some of the best sours and hazy IPAs in Southern California, making your quick drive up the coast well worth it. They’ve also got rotating BBQ and taco pop-ups.

Though Casa Agria is all the way in Oxnard, you don’t even have to leave your couch to drink their excellent sours and hazy IPAs - they’re offering free shipping on all orders over $45. They usually sell out within a day or two of new releases, but recent favorites have been the Can’t Beat The Biz hazy TIPA, and the Oro Del Sol - a blend of oak-aged wild ales that was then aged over California golden plums. It’s sour, funky, and extremely weird in the best way. In-store pick-up, or delivery via their website.

If You Want To Support Black-Owned Coffee Growers.

For their version of this beer, Oxnard’s excellent Casa Agria sourced coffee beans from JNP Coffee, a Black- and female-owned coffee grower and importer. Casa brewed Weathered Souls’ recipe to make a roasty, espresso-forward imperial stout. Proceeds are going to the Ventura County chapter of the ACLU Defense Fund.
