Angler might be the strangest restaurant in all of Los Angeles - and that’s not a compliment. Located on the ground floor of the Beverly Center (right next to the Macy’s entrance), Angler comes to us from San Francisco, but looks like a Vegas club for retired dads. There are giant fiberglass fish on wall, fogged-up tanks full of crustaceans, and Toto’s “Africa” blasting over the loudspeaker. While there is some good food here (the antelope tartare is a standout), there are simply too many misses considering how much you’re paying for everything. The fact they’re selling a $888 crab dish and a piece of wet toast for over $100 inside a restaurant at the worst mall in the city is proof of how tone-deaf this place is at its core. Unless you have money you really need to get rid of, you don’t need to come here.
