While we generally go for the meatball sub at this casual Italian spot in Beverly Grove, it’s a poorly-considered soggy mess waiting to happen. Instead, get the prosciutto sandwich, a salad, and some arancini (or one of the entree + dessert baskets they have for $19.50) that will make it to your outdoor viewing of Clueless intact. We also recommend having a gelato while you’re there as an appetizer.
Angelini Alimentari is an Italian brunch spot along Beverly that simply doesn’t feel like a brunch spot. There are no lines, no water-y bottomless mimosas, and no UCLA undergrads at the table over bragging about how close they are to throwing up right now. Order your food at the counter inside and go sit in the shade on their fantastic side patio. We usually get the eggs in purgatory, a pastry, and their ricotta toast, but can’t go wrong with anything here. You’re definitely getting some gelato for the walk to your car.
The all-day offshoot of the truffle pasta shrine that is Angelini Osteria, Alimentari is a great spot for a quick, casual breakfast or lunch on their front sidewalk patio. However, if you come here without getting at least one scoop of their gelato, you’re living a lesser existence. Made in-house daily, this is hands-down our favorite gelato in the city. Flavors change often, so don’t get too attached - but the good news is every flavor is good. Power move: Skip the cup and get it served all on brioche for the gelato sandwich of your dreams. For curbside pickup, call (323) 297-0070 or delivery is available on most major platforms.
