The City version of Yauatcha isn’t too far removed from the Soho original - think upmarket, pretty Cantonese dishes, served in a glam restaurant that’s excellent for pre-gaming before hitting some cocktail bars in Shoreditch. For the food, it’s one of the best places in London for evening dim sum (which is traditionally only served in the morning), and along with posh dumplings like an excellent venison puff, the classics are also very good as well. Larger dishes like a Malaysian-style char kway teow or beef ho fun are nicely cooked, and very satisfying. Similarly to the Soho location, service can very much be hit and miss, but when Yauatcha’s on its game, it’s incredible.
