Uncle John's Bakery
Where we've featured it
Available for delivery across London.
We’ve never heard anyone say ‘why did you get me three loaves of delicious bread, carrot cake, and cinnamon rolls?’, and that just goes to show that your mum, like anyone, would appreciate a custom box filled with things like sweet bread, twister bread, bofrot, and coconut cinnabon. And this Ghanaian bakery is delivering boxes of baked goods. You can either pick Uncle John’s Bakery Signature Box or add whatever you want to a custom box. Just make sure you’re around for when it arrives, because you’re going to want some too.
The Ghanaian bakery in Seven Sisters has a tonne of goodies available to order on their website. There are chicken, vegetable, fish, and meat pies plus, of course, a whole range of sweet stuff, like coconut cake and mini doughnuts.
Order this: The sweet bad.
Everyone deserves to have a bakery as good as Uncle John’s on their road. Technically, this Ghanaian bakery in South Tottenham is on everybody’s road now, thanks to the internet and their nationwide delivery. Aside from their majestic sweet bread and addictive servings of chin chin, their miniature fried coconut doughnuts are our favourite thing here. After months of dedicated practice, we’ve discovered that our preferred method of eating them is by steadily picking off the sweet, crispy outside, and then rolling the soft, doughy innards into a squidgy little ball whilst lying horizontally. We like to call this behaviour ‘self-care’. If you too wish to take part in some of London’s tastiest self-care, you should know that it’s only a quid for two tasty little sweet bads.
What to order: A Ghanaian spread complete with the world’s most addictive snack.
It is physically impossible to stop eating Uncle John’s coconut chin chin. If you think we’re joking you should see how many bags of this sweet, crunchy snack we go through every single day. Uncle John’s is one of London’s best bakeries and their classic Ghanaian goods are not only wildly tasty but super affordable. Alongside your very necessary order of 80 bags of chin chin, grab some of the twister bread, a couple chicken pies, and their excellent prawn and pepper shito sauce.

Uncle John’s is one of London’s best bakeries and their classic Ghanaian snacks are not only wildly tasty but super affordable. But one thing you should know is that it’s physically impossible to stop eating Uncle John’s coconut chin chin. If you think we’re joking, you should see how many bags of this sweet, crunchy snack we go through every single day.
We’re big fans of Uncle John’s bread. But this isn’t about bread, this is about sugar, and this great, little Ghanaian bakery in Seven Sisters is also delivering their carrot cake, sweet rolls, coconut chin chin, and cake with custard. Look out for sweet bad, a coconut doughnut situation that is only a pound and seriously moerish.
This majestic lunchtime spread
“Everyone deserves to have a bakery as good as Uncle John’s on their road. Technically this Ghanaian bakery in South Tottenham is on everybody’s road thanks to the internet and their nationwide delivery, but I’m lucky enough to be within walking distance. Their chicken pie is my go-to lunch order - think tomato, chicken, crust with the perfect crunch - but there’s something about combining this jolly little slice with some Ghanaian Fanta and their sweet bad that makes me capital-h Happy. Nibble of fried coconut dough, bite of herby chicken, rolling the inside of the doughnuts into a delicious little squidgy ball, all washed down with a blast of extra fruity OJ. The perfect lunch.” - HLB
