The Borough branch of the upmarket Hawksmoor steak palaces is every bit as accomplished as its siblings. This restaurant in particular has a good choice of specials that changes every day depending on what’s available - it’s definitely an advantage to have one of the most famous food markets in the world literally on your doorstep. Besides the perfectly grilled aged British steaks, the baked oysters and scallops at Hawksmoor Borough are excellent, and their express lunches are great for the occasional splurge if you work in the area. Hit up the bar for a cocktail or a mug of Shakey Pete’s after you’re done for the day.

Flour & Grape is another member of the we-just-invented-fresh-pasta club, and it’s worth the trek over to Bermondsey when Padella is rammed.
The Breakfast Club London Bridge
The Breakfast Club, unsurprisingly, does excellent all-day breakfasts.
