The story goes that Jesus could turn water into wine. A useful trick, we’ll admit. And one we’ve often thought of whilst staring at airport water fountains. But one thing big J couldn’t do is make a margarita look like water, could he? Hacha in Dalston can. This breezy, unpretentious bar is the home of the mirror margarita, an astonishingly delicious feat of alcohol alchemy that’s a godsend for anyone pretending to abstain from alcohol. Two or three of the margarita will do the trick, but they go down like water, so you’ll want to slow the pace down with some decent seabass tostaditas or beef tacos. Otherwise what you see in the mirror the next morning might not be so pretty.
