Try looking at Flavourtown’s Unicorn cake without smiling. You can’t, can you? Specialising in huge, happy creations, Flavourtown’s birthday cakes are the kind you daydreamed about as a little kid. We’re talking sprinkles, rainbow fillings, gold sparkles, and topped with flamingo macarons. They have a big range available on their online shop, including red velvet, mint chocolate chip, cookies and cream, and a vegan biscoff option.
“If you spend even a minute on this Fulham cake shop’s Instagram page, then you’ll understand why you don’t just rock up here and get one cupcake to go. No, you might go in with that intention, but you end up leaving with a box of assorted cupcakes, a Mars Bar brownie, a monster slice of red velvet, and a hot choc cookie for the road. And by the road, I mean your mouth. With fun combos like vegan biscoff sundae, and brownie cheesecake cupcakes, you’ll want to try them all. And you should, because they taste even better than they look.” RS

Red velvet cupcake and Bad Ass Brownie cupcake
“I’ve eaten a lot of cakes in my time. Like a lot, a lot. Like me and my dentist aren’t on speaking terms, a lot. But the cupcakes I ate at this Fulham spot are unlike any I’ve tried before. They were so good that a box of six cupcakes, and a fat slice of red velvet later and I was still kicking myself for not getting some Mars Bar brownies. The red velvet cupcake is the best one I’ve had in London, and the Bad Ass Brownie cupcake - which has a cheesecake layer and a brownie on top - regularly visits me in my dreams.” - RS
