Truth Italian Restaurant

56 E Pershing Rd

Chicago, IL 60653

The large outdoor space at Black-owned Truth Italian is perfect for a date, and the covered patio means you can’t use the weather as an excuse to cancel. Also worth noting - this place serves a fantastic breakfast (with lots of french toast variations) seven days a week, and their long mimosa menu makes it ideal for a boozy weekend brunch.

One of our favorite reasons to visit this Italian restaurant is for their brunch (which is decidedly un-Italian). They serve it every day of the week on their completely tented and partially enclosed patio. Come here for a french toast flight, waffles, or lobster and grits. Just don’t forget the mimosas.

Truth Italian’s breakfast is available every day of the week, so you don’t have to wait till the weekend for their french toast flights and big plates of lobster & grits. But with the delicious food and impressive portion sizes, we can’t imagine anyone having a productive workday after eating breakfast here.

One of our favorite reasons to visit this Italian restaurant is for their breakfast (which is decidedly un-Italian). Luckily, Truth is open for brunch on December 31st. So, if you couldn’t care less about Champagne toasts at midnight, or are someone who prefers to be in bed by 9pm on New Year’s Eve, come here for a french toast flight, waffles, or lobster and grits. Just don’t forget the mimosas, and you can call it a day - or better yet, a year.

This Italian spot is offering takeout and curbside pickup.
