Little Beet is a health-conscious restaurant imported from New York. And we say “health-conscious" intentionally, rather than calling it “totally healthy." Things like cauliflower hummus, charred broccoli, and black sea bass with spaghetti squash are pretty good for you, but also more than simply lettuce and grains. Plus you have the option of getting wild with a grass-fed double burger if you really want. The Gold Coast restaurant is very bright and pretty in the bottom of an upscale apartment building, which should help explain the type of people and vibes you’ll get. Overall, we like it for a weekday meal with friends when you want to go out to eat but not get too gross.

Tempo Cafe is the local Gold Coast diner open 24 hours a day. It's also exactly what we assume the coffee shop from Seinfeld is like.
Excellent sushi in an unlikely spot. This tiny restaurant at the bottom of the Hilton hotel on Mies van der Rohe Way street is worth a trip for any real sushi fan.
25 Degrees is a solid, dimly-lit burger and beer kind of spot in River North. We approve.
