Little Wild

If you like dancing and/or hanging out on rooftops, we have good news. There’s a new all-season bar on the seventh floor of the Ace Hotel in the West Loop. It’s called Little Wild, and it has a covered area with a dance floor, DJ booth, and an open-air space with views of Chicago’s downtown skyline. Along with drinks, you can also get snacks like katsu sliders and nachos.

Taste Of Andersonville

Tickets are now on sale for Taste of Andersonville. The walking tour takes place on August 11th from 5-8pm, and over 20 restaurants are participating. You choose from two routes (called “fork” and “spoon”) with each route offering different restaurants. Tickets cost $30, but if you want to do both routes they’re $55. Kimpton Gray Hotel

There are two events happening at the Kimpton Grey, and both of them are free. ​​From now until August 8th there’s a pop-up seltzer bar (called The Selzer Shop) where you can sample a bunch of different hard seltzers in an old school soda shop-themed space. And until the end of August they’re hosting a Swedish photography exhibit called Fotografiska, which features the work of female photographers. Check their website for more information.

Northhalsted Market Days

This weekend (August 6-8th) is Market Days - an LGBTQ+ festival that started in 1982 and is a sh*t ton of fun. It takes place in the Northalsted/Lakeview neighborhood, and has live music, art, vendors, food, drinks, DJs, and dancing. For the full lineup and schedule, click here.

The Chicago Michelada Festival

The Chicago Michelada Fest is happening at Harrison Park in Pilsen this weekend. There will be live performances, food trucks, vendors, drinks (including micheladas of course), and more. Tickets are $20 for Friday, $50 for Saturday and Sunday, and $100 for the whole weekend. Visit their website for tickets, and see the full lineup of events.

Dancing In The Streets

Here’s some more festival fun this weekend. Dancing In The Streets is a jam-band-focused street festival in West Town. You can hear bands like Terrapin Flyer and Paradise Waits, and get beer from local breweries like On Tour Brewing, Finch Beer, and Forbidden Root. There will also be a variety of West Town restaurants and food trucks available, too.

Food Truck Fest

Food Truck Fest is going on downtown from now until October 15th. Every Friday from 11am to 3pm a different lineup of food trucks park outside the Daley Plaza. RIght now it’s Sweets Girl, Chicago Lunchbox, The Fat Shallot, Harolds, and Lawrence Fish and Shrimp. Head to the website for more information.
