True to its name, Tasting Counter is a counter where people taste food. But describing it like that is sort of like describing the Tooth Fairy as someone who sneaks into childrens’ bedrooms at night - it’s technically true, but it kind of misses the point (and, wow, is all of a sudden really creepy). The food you’ll be tasting here costs over $200 per person, including wine pairings, but you’ll get your money’s worth with fine dining renditions of everything from langoustine to braised squab. Put this on your list for next really special occasion and, with a few post-meal beers from the Aeronaut Brewery that it’s actually built inside, you’ll have a great time.

Ebi Sushi is a casual sushi spot in Union Square, and it’s just one more reason we’re jealous of people who live in Union Square.
