Where we've featured it
Any time a restaurant has “secret sauce” on the menu, we reflexively raise an eyebrow, a la Dwayne Johnson during his wrestling days. Lulu Green’s version comes alongside some tasty oven-baked za’atar fries, so we give them a pass. Everything else at this plant-based cafe has a variety of Mediterranean spices, so Lulu’s definitely gets our sense of smell going more than anything The Rock was cooking. Order pickup and delivery on their website.
Pomegranate molasses and mint sound like ingredients that would pair well together in your next cocktail or the startup toothpaste company you’ve always wanted to run. They’re also found on the hummus toast at Lulu Green, served with dates on a za’atar focaccia. Smoothies, pastries, coffee, and dishwashing detergent (we’re not sure why) are also available Wed-Sun for takeout.
Southie now has a Middle Eastern vegan restaurant. You’ll have salads, sandwiches, smoothies, and a mezze bar to choose from, as well as some bakery items. A Turkish coffee cardamom-cherry muffin seems like a delicious option to us.
This plant-based cafe in the South Boston won’t have its full menu available for takeout and delivery, but it will still have a special menu and a large selection of pressed juices in stock. You can order through their website for pickup and delivery between 11am - 2pm. While you can still resort to V8 for your vegetable needs, everything at Lulu’s will probably taste better.
