Citizen Public House & Oyster Bar
Where we've featured it

Dark taverns with wood-beam ceilings and fireplaces are ideal spots to hang by yourself. That’s what you’ll find at Citizen Public House in the Fenway, a place that feels like it’s old enough to have been a bar where your grandfather used to come and smoke cigars, even though it’s in a brand new building that also houses a spin studio. The burger here is really big and slathered in truffle aioli, so you may not finish it, but that just means you can have a second meal by yourself in your kitchen later that night.
The official website of the organizing body for the annual presidential turkey pardons is EatTurkey.com, where thousands of turkey recipes are available. Maybe that’s an apt metaphor for politics, and the motivation we need to start a grassroots movement for pardon reform. Citizen’s whole roasted pig dinner with five sides would be the centerpiece of organizational efforts and, on years with favorable budgets, a few seafood towers and orders of spice-rubbed ribs would make an appearance as well.
