Bars and restaurants in Boston are closed for dine-in service, but that doesn’t mean you have to sit in a corner and eat tomatoes out of a can. We made this delivery and takeout directory for specific situations - so when you need something affordable, or just found out that Brady is leaving, you’ll know exactly where to place your next order.

We also have a list of all the Boston restaurants currently offering takeout and delivery options.

When You're Tired of Pop-Tarts For Breakfast

Mike & Patty's

$$$$
$$$$ 12 Church St

On a normal day, the breakfast sandwiches from Mike & Patty’s are already pretty great. Since none of our days are that normal anymore, we’ve upgraded the rating on these sandwiches to “masterpiece while consumed in bed.” Place an order for takeout or delivery on their website.

Milkweed

$$$$ 1508 Tremont St

Milkweed claims to have “a menu fit for a monarch.” We only know of a few monarchs in the world, and we’re pretty sure they’re not in Milkweed’s delivery range. Nevertheless, you can order Lucky Charms pancakes or salmon cakes for breakfast - whether or not you call yourself a king or queen.

South End Buttery

$$$$ 314 Shawmut Ave

A buttermilk biscuit has 75% of the same ingredients as a Pop-Tart - but the caprese biscuits from South End Buttery taste 100% better. Place an order on the cafe’s website.

Curio Coffee

$$$$ 441 Cambridge St

In general, East Cambridge doesn’t get much attention - but its residents probably prefer to keep Curio Coffee to themselves anyway. This excellent coffee shop is still doing curbside takeout for coffee and homemade waffles. All orders must be placed online.

Cuppacoffee

$$$$ 57 Traveler St

Australian meat pies and sausage rolls from Cuppa, which have amazingly flaky shells, are probably the best savory breakfast items for those who dislike eggs. Pick some up from this South End coffee shop.

Tatte Bakery & Cafe

$$$$ 288 Massachusetts Avenue

Surprise, surprise - Tatte has been deemed an essential business and all branches are open for pickup orders. Shed some joyful tears as you place your order online.

Sally’s Sandwiches

$$$$ 492 Tremont St

Unfortunately, Blackbird Donuts has stopped donut production for now, but it’s sister establishment Sally’s Sandwiches - which has breakfast tacos and ham and pesto crepes - can still help you through your mornings. Order online for takeout or get it delivered through Caviar.

When you Want something affordable

All Star Sandwich Bar

$$$$
$$$$ 1245 Cambridge St

$14 for a sandwich seems like a lot until you realize that you can eat half of the Island Jerk Chicken Melt for lunch and then save the other half for dinner. You’ll only want to each half a sandwich anyway since you need to save room for their excellent cheesecake.

Bánh Mì Ba Le

$$$$ 1052 Dorchester Ave

Getting a bánh mì sandwich for $4.50 is a great deal any day of the year, but it feels especially useful at the moment. Call ahead at (617) 265-7171, and you can pick up your order at the takeout window.

A wagyu roast beef sandwich for $10 is a great thing for Back Bay residents who may be more used to $90 cakes (that’s a real thing, by the way). You can place an order online, and pick up your meal at the takeout window.

Dirty Water Dough Company

$$$$
$$$$ 20 Maverick St

Dirty Water in both East Boston and Back Bay are open for takeout and delivery. A large pizza (starting at $16) should be enough to feed three, but we’re not trying to limit anyone here.

Dakzen

$$$$
$$$$ 195 Elm St

While you’re working from home, you can keep warm by turning up the thermostat or by simply ordering some spicy noodles from Dakzen. The tom yum noodle soup is $8.95, which is cheaper than any heating bill we’ve paid.

Himalayan Kitchen

$$$$ 40 Bow St

Kebabs and biryani, for under $15 per order, are a stronger couple than any of the ones you might’ve seen on Love Is Blind or The Bachelor recently.

El Pelon Taqueria

$$$$
Mexican  in  Fenway
$$$$ 92 Peterborough St

Everything on the menu at El Pelon is under $9, so you should just go ahead and place an order through their website right now. There’s also another location in Brighton if you don’t live near Fenway.

Tawakal Cafe

$$$$
$$$$ 389 Maverick St

It’s hard to explain just how much we like the $12 coconut grits with chickpea stew at Tawakal, but we keep thinking about it every time we walk into our kitchens for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Los Amigos Taqueria

$$$$ 424 Highland Ave

What are you going to do with all those black beans you just bought? Maybe you donate them to the team at Los Amigos, who are making large burritos for $8.25. They also have locations in Brighton, Brookline, Newton, and West Roxbury.

Sugar & Spice Restaurant

$$$$ 1933 Massachusetts Ave

This Thai restaurant’s “survival kits” - with your choice of rice noodle soup, massaman curry, or chicken congee - are only $7.95 each, and they’re more substantial than the two bags of similarly priced chocolate-covered pomegranate seeds.

Taquería Jalisco

$$$$
$$$$ 291 Bennington St

The great thing about Jalisco’s tamales is that they’re only $2.99 each, and you’ll probably be pretty full after two. The other great thing is that they freeze well, so you should start hoarding these instead of toilet paper.

When you want to have a Big night in

Mooo....

$$$$ 15 Beacon St

Mooo.... and its partner restaurants (Bar Lyon, Mistral, Sorellina, Ostra, and Teatro) have a menu of “Classics” that can be delivered through a “butler service.” It sounds like a marketing gimmick, but we’re really fine with anything that can bring grilled branzino and parmigiano truffle fries to our door.

Bondir

$$$$
$$$$ 279A Broadway

If you’re craving white asparagus and caviar (who are we to judge?), then Bondir is here for you. You’ll have to reserve your order ahead of time on their website, and if you’ve already come this far, you might as well order some of their excellent bread too.

Fox & The Knife

$$$$
$$$$ 28 W Broadway

There are a lot of Italian restaurants doing takeout pasta right now, and Fox & The Knife is no different - except you can also order fresh pasta and sauce to cook at home. If you decide you also need ten orders of that great cheesy focaccia, then we applaud your decision-making instincts.

La Morra

$$$$
$$$$ 48 Boylston St

There’s a seemingly endless list of Italian restaurants doing to-go pasta, but almost none of them can offer anything as good as the bolognese from La Morra. Don’t forget to also add some of the fried anchovies wrapped in sage leaves to your order - they’ll go well with anything you’re drinking at home right now.

Blue Dragon

$$$$
$$$$ 324 A St

You could order regular fried rice for your big night in, or you could order duck fried rice with mango salsa and a crispy duck egg. Sometimes Asian fusion restaurants are not great, but Blue Dragon manages to strike a good balance between flavor and innovation.

when you Haven't seen a vegetable in a week

Brewer's Fork

$$$$
$$$$ 7 Moulton St

A vegetarian pizza is essentially just a salad with a side of bread and cheese. Plus, the Mushroom Man at Brewer’s Fork has leeks, arugula, and mushrooms (naturally), so it also has more nutrients than almost any caesar salad. You can place an order through their website.

True Bistro

$$$$ 1153 Broadway

A week is a long time without vegetables, so order a vegan family package from True Bistro. You can get a seared radicchio and pear salad, butternut squash manicotti, and a blood orange cheesecake for a great three-course meal. Other choices are available as well, if you didn’t like our picks. Order for delivery and pickup here.

Lulu Green

$$$$ 246 W Broadway

This plant-based cafe in the South End won’t have its full menu available for takeout and delivery, but it will still have a special menu and a large selection of pressed juices in stock. You can order through their website for pickup and delivery between 12 - 6pm. While you can still resort to V8 for your vegetable needs, everything at Lulu’s will probably taste better.

anoush’ella

$$$$
$$$$ 35 W Newton St

Sometimes salad bowls, like vitamin pills, are just a part of life’s necessities. But the bowls at anoush’ella, with roasted eggplant and pomegranate molasses, can make the experience so much more enjoyable - just like those vitamin gummies we can’t stop snacking on.

Sarma

$$$$ 249 Pearl St

Sarma has a daily takeout menu with rotating options, but there’s always a section of the menu that’s dedicated to vegetables. With options like brussel sprout bravas and cauliflower fatteh, there’s something to look forward to every day. Call the restaurant at (617) 764-4464 to place an order.

When You just found out tom brady is leaving

Honeycomb Creamery

$$$$ 1702 Massachusetts Ave

From 3-9pm daily, this stellar Cambridge ice cream shop will be offering curbside pickup and local delivery. All orders must be placed online, but you should feel better about the future of the Pats when you consume pints of bay leaf and lemon curd ice cream.

Ganko Ittetsu Ramen

$$$$ 318 Harvard St Ste 3

If there’s better comfort food than a hot bowl of ramen, we’re not sure what it would be. Ganko Ittetsu has almost every type available, from miso to shoyu to shio. The well-balanced broths and perfectly-cooked noodles make a great pair - though it seems pairs are what Belichick hates the most.

Night Shift Brewing

$$$$
$$$$ 87 Santilli Hwy

Stop into Night Shift’s taproom to pick up some much-needed beverages, or you can have some delivered right to you on Drizly and Insta-cart. Once you crack open a can at home, you can start cursing Hulu for giving you such false hope during the Super Bowl.

And let’s be honest - between the coronavirus and Brady - you probably need a lot more than just a 12-pack. Check out our alcohol delivery and pick-up guide for more options.
