Fukumoto is a sushi restaurant and izakaya hybrid located on East 6th, serving excellent renditions of classic Japanese bar foods and sushi, with fish flown in regularly from Tokyo. We usually like to go with their daily specials that tend to highlight some of their less common fish or specially-prepared dishes, but you really can’t go wrong with most of the items on the menu. Nigiri is the highlight here, with fresh, quality fish and perfectly-sized bites. But their grilled, skewered meats - the yakitori in particular - are also excellent. They also have a great sake list - try getting a few of the pairings for the full experience.
